Recently, the company’s independently developed automatic cuttings collection and washing machine was successfully applied in Guanxie 175 well. So far, it has automatically collected cuttings from 23 wells and 10,600 bags in Shengli work area, and the on-site application of the equipment has achieved good results.
The automatic cuttings collection and washing machine is connected to the integrated logging instrument through software. After the custom cuttings collection interval is set, the sampling signal is triggered by the logging instrument depth data, driving the mechanical device to complete the sampling, and then the cuttings are transported to the cuttings cleaning device through a closed pipeline for cleaning, thus realizing continuous sampling and automatic cleaning of cuttings. Compared with traditional manual work, it has the characteristics of accurate cuttings collection, high degree of cleaning, and low labor intensity.
A mudlogging team worker said: “With this equipment, we can collect and clean sand samples quickly and well without the need for collectors, which is a ‘good news’ for our logging frontline.” “In fact, there are still many problems with the equipment at present.” A production manager in charge of the promotion and application of the equipment said frankly, “In the next step, after explosion-proof modifications and other improvements, the equipment will definitely be promoted to larger markets such as offshore and overseas, further reducing the labor intensity of employees and improving the level of logging automation.
